Many governments think that economic progress is their most important goal. Some people, however think that other types of progress are equally important. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Development is a controversial topic for a government, which has broader aspects. Although some authorities consider bolstering the economic standards, others counter argue that alternative types of growth such as social, and cultural are also noteworthy. In my opinion, believe that upbringing the financial state should be the primacy of a government.

On the one hand, the growth in revenue level of a country is directly associated with the overall increase in other sectors. That means, if the economy improves, more employment opportunities can be generated , reducing the unemployment rate into one digit. This may lead to higher production and exportation, while receiving tremendous export revenues as foreign exchange. For example, Sri Lanka doubled its export revenue from agriculture products in 2020. Hence, the advanced economy ultimately causes to improve quality of life. The larger the improvement in economy, the more the benefits other sectors will get.

On the other hand, others argue implementing higher lifting in other sectors such as health, education, gender equality, and the welfare activities are also essential. Indeed, the progress in the health sector is inevitable, especially at the brink of a pandemic that has thoroughly influenced the health industry. For example, Covid 19 patient’s level superseded the hospital threshold in 2021. Meanwhile, the welfare of the public should be initiated through multiple development programmes such as poverty alleviation incentive schemes. For example, the world food programme has revealed that 22% of Sri Lankan are undernourished in their 2020 report. Therefore, bolstering the social sector is undeniably a primary task of a government.

In conclusion, even though, development in sociocultural backgrounds are tremendously important in today's context, I trust that being economic bolstering is more crucial at the global pandemic circumstances because if the economy soars, all other sectors will enhance simultaneously. Hence, should be offered to boost the income of the country in a bid to develop other sectors thereafter.

(1) associated sounds fine, but the best words to use would be directly proportionate.

Well structured, good range of grammar and vocabulary. Your examples were appropriately used and you shared some good ideas in your essay. While there are some small grammatical errors, your meaning was always clear. Well done.
