The New Zealand Qualifications Authority
The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) is the official government body responsible for the registration and accreditation of all educational establishments in New Zealand.
NZQA accredited English language institutions may be either private language schools or state tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, etc.)
For private English language schools, there are two professional associations with quality standards:
- FIELS New Zealand, the Federation of Independent English Language Schools of New Zealand;
- CRELS New Zealand, the Combined Registered English Language Schools of New Zealand.
